My Ceremony Services in County Monaghan

Every ceremony I create is unique — written from scratch to reflect your personalities, beliefs and shared story.

I offer:

Legal wedding ceremonies (civil / non-religious)

Vow renewals

Commitment ceremonies & elopements

Symbolic rituals: handfasting, unity candle, sand blending, ring warming, wishing stones, time capsules

Every ceremony script is written from scratch so no templates, no repeats - just something that feels like you.

Where Can You Legally Marry in Monaghan?

In Ireland, legal weddings must be held in venues that are open to the public and accessible for inspection. Private homes and gardens, however lovely, can’t be used for legal ceremonies.

You can view the full venue criteria on the HSE’s official venue guidance.

Happily, Monaghan is rich in approved venues that combine elegance and natural beauty, including:

Castle Leslie Estate – iconic, romantic, and steeped in Irish history.

Hilton Park House – a Georgian treasure surrounded by lakes and parkland.

The Four Seasons Hotel Monaghan – modern luxury with heartfelt hospitality.

Hillgrove Hotel & Spa – contemporary style with sweeping countryside views.

I’ll guide you through every step -  from confirming legal eligibility to ensuring your chosen venue matches the atmosphere you envision.

The Process for Getting Married in Ireland

To have your marriage legally recognised in Ireland:

Give at least three months’ notice to the HSE Registrar.

Attend your appointment and receive your Marriage Registration Form (MRF).

Choose a registered solemniser (like me!) and an approved venue.

Sign your MRF during the ceremony in the presence of two witnesses.

I’ll walk you through each stage, so you can enjoy planning your ceremony without stress.

Answers for Your Ceremony Journey

Your Monaghan Wedding Questions, Answered

Here you’ll find clear, practical answers to the most common questions about planning a legal or symbolic ceremony in County Monaghan - from venues and legalities to timing and ceremony style.

Can we have our legal wedding outdoors in Monaghan?

Yes - provided the outdoor area is part of an approved venue and meets the HSE’s accessibility standards.

What’s the difference between a registrar and a celebrant?

Registrars work for the State and conduct civil ceremonies in offices or designated venues. As a registered solemniser, I can marry you legally anywhere in Ireland or Northern Ireland - indoors or outdoors with full personalisation.

How far in advance should we book?

9–12 months ahead is ideal, though I’ll always try to accommodate shorter notice where possible.
